Neighborhood Voting For US President Is Over In L-A County
Written by 991KBU on August 1, 2018
Voting for the president at your neighborhood polling place is over … in most of California.
Beginning with the elections in 2020 … Los Angeles County will no longer open neighborhood polling places across the county on election day.
In fact … there will be no election day.
Instead … voters will have 11 days leading up to the first Tuesday in November to cast their ballots.
And the votes will be taken at vote centers … which will allow voters to cast a ballot at any vote center location … anywhere in the county … over the 11-day period starting October 23rd and ending November Second … in the year 2020.
L A County is now seeking input from the community on just where the County should consider placing Vote Centers for the 2020 election cycle.
The idea … increase voter engagement by offering greater convenience, accessibility and time for voters to participate in elections.
Now … where will these voting centers be?
There’s an online survey…. voters can participate in this effort by suggesting locations where they believe vote centers should be placed … by using an interactive map.
