Trump Says US Government Won’t Pay For Ex-Royals Security (In Malibu) – So Who Will?

Written by on April 1, 2020

KBUU generally does not report on British royalty … our view is that winning the War of Independence means we don’t have to care about those people.

But we do care about Malibu issues.

A man named Henry Charles Albert David … and his wife … Rachel Meghan Markle … plan to move to Malibu.

Along with their baby … Archie.

They are better known as Prince Harry and the Dutchess of Sussex … their kid Archie has no title, other than making most Americans think of Edith Bunker/Jean Stapleton shrieking “oh Archie” on All In The Family.

They are reportedly leasing a 14 thousand dollar per night B and B in Serra Estates.

They will attract throngs.

Paparazzi.

Tourists.

Criminals.

Potential threats.

Who will pay for security?

The Los Angeles County sheriff?

Often …  the United States government pays for security for foreign dignitaries.

On Sunday … no less than President Donald Trump took time from his very busy day dealing with the global pandemic and financial meltdown.

He tweeted out that … quote …

“I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom.

“It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!”

The couple and baby Archie have been living on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, at a borrowed luxury estate since Thanksgiving.

While the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have been working with London’s Metropolitan police to provide security for the three royals abroad, that protection was on an “as-needed basis” ended yesterday.

Their status as working members of the royal family ended yesterday … their new life as financially independent royals living in North America officially begins.

Living in Malibu.

With security needs.

So welcome, neighbors.

Who is going to pay for your security here?
