190 positive cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed over the past 10 months in Malibu as of yesterday (Sunday).
In the surrounding unincorporated LA County area of the Santa Monica Mountains … the case count is up to 261.
Those are up by 4 in Malibu and 10 in the mountains.
If you shop at the Costco on Washington Boulevard near Culver City … or in Woodland Hills … heads up.
51 employees of that Culver City store have been tested positive with the disease.
At the Costco in Woodland Hills … 34 employees.
No positive cases reported by the Costco in Westlake Village … over the hill.
Ventura County has not released any numbers … if there are any cases … from the Costco in Oxnard.
No other supermarket chain has been reported by the L A County health Department to have anything close to such numbers.
But there are reports in the L A Times that some supermarket chains are being hammered.
Food For Less … which is a sister supermarket chain to Ralphs … has had numerous cases at at least one store … in the Antelope Valley.
There have been several outbreaks at supermarkets … but none as large as the two Costco incidents.
L.A. County is investigating ongoing coronavirus outbreaks at 490 businesses, compared with 173 a month ago, according to county data analyzed by the L A Times.
The increase in outbreaks drives home officials’ warnings that the only way to stay safe is to stay home, even as many businesses remain open.

A terrifying event at a Sprouts supermarket in Thousand Oaks.
Some Malibu residents say on social media that they were shopping for food when a loud group protesting face mask requirements tried top smash their way in.
Police were called to a disturbance call at the Sprouts Farmers Market location at 600 West Hillcrest Drive at 10 Saturday morning.
About 20 protesters had tried to walk into the business without wearing face masks in what was apparently a planned event of intimidation.
The store’s manager had immediately closed the store and refused to let the group enter.
A patrol sergeant identified a spokesperson for the group and the two engaged in a reasonable dialog, police told the Ventura County Star.
“There was no evidence of any criminal activity,” Worthy said. “No one was arrested and no one was cited for any violations.”
That’s not what witnesses said on social media.
They described protesters loudly going inside the store without masks and confronting people who were wearing masks.
The assistant manager was “still shaking” hours after the incident … according to the mayor of Thousand Oaks.
