Sober Living Houses Flee Over The Hill From Malibu

Written by on May 6, 2019

Sober living houses have fled Malibu and infested neighborhoods over the hill … a largely unseen phenomenon that is an apparent consequence of the Woolsey fire.

The Calabasas enterprise newspaper reports that high-end rehab centers have relocated in large numbers to Woodland Hills … Calabasas and Agoura Hills.

The newspaper reports clusters of sober living homes are infuriating residents.

The area near El Camino high school in the West Valley now hosts 12 sober living homes.

Meanwhile in Malibu … some sober living houses burned … others are vacant.

State Sen. Henry Stern’s office says the problem of concentrated sober living houses has moved over the hill.

A spokesman for the office says the new state law regulating alcohol or drug abuse treatment centers does not addressed sober living homes … and that is what has West Hills residents worried.
