Sheriff Blames Political Enemies As Video Of Violent Campaign Aide Released

The embattled L A County sheriff is blaming “political enemies” for controversy over his rehiring of a key campaign aid … back onto the sheriff’f force after lying about breaking into his girlfriend’s house.
This comes after the L A County Personnel Department released video of the then-fired deputy … a man named Caren Carl Mandoyan … using tools and a broomstick to enter the woman’s home as she told him to go away.
Alex Villanueva was himself disciplined by the former sheriff … before Villanueva was elected to office in an upset victory.
And Villanueva says he is going to review the cases of 400 LA county sheriff’s deputies who were fired or disciplined in an effort to get rid of bad cops.
A county hearing officer found that the accused deputy … Carl Mandoyan … “was not honest or truthful” … and that “lack of honesty alone calls into question his fitness for future service.”
Mandoyan was fired and went to work to unseat the sheriff who fired him.
He became a key aide and driver to Villanueva.
Yesterday ,,, the new sheriff said Mandoyan’s work for him in the election contest had nothing to do with the fact that he was immediately rehired.
Villanueva serves as the de facto police chief for the city of Malibu.
