Rain Early Tomorrow, But Take Forecast For Next Week With A Grain Of Salt

A relatively weak storm system is going to arrive in Malibu early tomorrow morning.
The National Weather Service says we can expect a 3 to 6 hour period of steady rain early in the morning … turning scattered showers by mid morning across Los Angeles County.
We’ll get a brief period of south winds as the front moves through the area … that might push the clouds against the moutains and cause a little more rain on the south-facing mountains in the Malibu area.
About a half inch of rain is expected … and the peak rainfall rates are generally expected to remain below a quarter inch per hour.
A second little storm will arrive Sunday.
L-A County flood experts are predicting the rain will -NOT- be strong enough to trigger mudflows.
The long range forecast shows the possibility of a big rainstorm arriving Wednesday.
There’s a lot of uncertainty …
But those early predictions very wet Valentines’s Day … well …the storms seem to be falling apart.
We’ll know better tomorrow … but relying on computer models for storms seven days away in the North Pacific … in winter … is never done by the National Weather Service experts.
