Questions Raised About Homeless Feeding At Abandoned Courts Building

Written by on April 2, 2018

Feeding homeless people at Malibu’s abandoned county courthouse goes before the city council next week.

Not  a lot of details in the city’s report … how many days a week will this happen???

The City Manager says allowing church volunteers to provide meals to homeless people at City Hall or Bluffs Park would conflict with events and programs there.

The city manager and county supervisor Sheila Kuehl now say … that the vacant courthouse would be the most suitable location for the meals program.

But it’s not clear from the city report … would this be weekly … daily …. or how homeless persons would be transported away from the courthouse when dinner’s over.

Also .. how will this affect the Malibu Public Library … which is right next door.

Pepperdine University has been approached by t he city … and they reportedly are eager to participate in the program.

All this goes before the city council … next Monday.
