73 cases of Coronavirus still in Malibu.
But the case count in the Santa Monica Mountains is up three … to 76.
And just up the highway … at least 21 teenagers at a state correctional facility near Camarillo had tested positive for coronavirus.
One adult also … and 14 additional tests are pending, according to Rigo Vargas, the county’s public health director.
The facility is run by the state’s Division of Juvenile Justice.
It houses youth offenders from counties throughout California.

There was a Magnitude 2.2 earthquake at 6:00:39 PT this morning, with an epicenter just a little east of downtown Pacific Palisades.
It made a small thumping noise out here at Trancas … sort of like a heater turned on.

Street racing … road takeovers … violence.
All across the Southland … roving from venue to venue.
Sometimes …. Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.
Sometimes … elsewhere not too far away.
Saturday night … there was a street takeover at Hollywood and Highland.
A big crowd … a fight broke out … multiple gunshots … a 17-year-old girl watching the street race was shot and killed.
A 17-year-old girl from Huntington Park was identified by family as Alejandra Estrada.
Police say she was described as an innocent bystander who was watching the race.
LAPD says a man from El Paso Texas has been arrested for the alleged murder.

Lawlessness is not only happening on PCH .. but in oceanfront mansions next to it.
At Latigo Beach last night … a huge party at a multi-multimillion dollar mansion.
There were parkign valets … a large number of parked cars …. just like the good old days.
The city of Malibu asked deputies to break up the party if it was violating the county’s Public Health Order.
But it’s not clear what happened after they arrived.
City officials say they will not tolerate violations oft he public health order … which bans large gatherings.

California State Parks say weekend pictures of what looks like a packed crowd on the Malibu Pier may have been a bit misleading.
But nonetheless … the state has brought the issue to the attention of the concessionaire that managers and operates the Malibu Pier and parking lot.
Over the weekend … photos circulated on social media of what at first glance flooks like a packed pier.
The photographer took a long shot from across PCH creating a depth of field illusion of crowding when in fact it may not be the case … a state official tells KBUU
That being said the concessionaire has promised to make changes to avoid this in the future.
State officials tell KBUU that that they have received one complaint about overcrowding since the Pier reopened almost two months ago this is the first complaint.
Malibu Farm … which operates the pier … has taken extensive steps to provide physical distancing and still remain open … according to state parks.

An a most unusual sunset last night at Trancas Beach.
Five parachutists dropped form the sky … and landed on the beach near the Malibu West Swim Club.
Kids in Trancas Canyon were yelling ”land here! land here!” to the parachutists.
All five made controlled and routine landings on the beach.
Not illegal … said the sheriff’s department …. why would it be????
Deputies have in the past ticketed ultralight aircraft … which have parachute-style canopies.
But no engine .. no foul …
