Malibu Lagoon Stench Spreading

The fish die off at Malibu Lagoon has gotten fetid.
Hundreds of fish are floating … dead … and rotting.
The stench in central Malibu … overwhelming.
State parks says they believe the fish may have been killed by hot water … and possibly a lack of oxygen in the water,
No firm cause has been established.
There are no plans to remove the hundreds of pounds of decaying fish … which are forming mats of rotting bio-matter.
Activists who opposed the lagoon restoration project 6 years ago are seizing on this as proof that it was a bad project.
Biologists point out that fish die offs could be considered a normal cycle in coastal lagoons.
But the cause of the die off has not been determined.
