Lt. Jennifer Seetoo Removed From Malibu Liaison Duty, City Officials Seething
Written by 991KBU on October 17, 2019
After almost exactly one year in the job … Lieutenant Jennifer Seetoo has been bounced out of the L A County sheriff’s office Malibu Lost Hills Station.
And she is not happy about it.
Without explanation … in fact … without answering the phone … the L A County sheriff ’s office has moved Seetoo to some other job … somewhere else in the vast organization.
This is the fifth time in a year that top management at the local sheriff’s office has made a personnel change at .. or near the top … of Malibu law enforcement.
L A County’s elected sheriff … Alex Villanueva … has fired dozens of top and middle management personnel.
He has shuffled captains and lieutenants into and out of the top job at Malibu Lost Hills.
Seetoo arrived at the job 50 weeks ago.
Just a few days before the Woolsey Fire … and had to deal with the extremely unpopular roadblocks that were ordered by department bosses downtown.
She quickly worked to establish connections to the Malibu community ….
She met with people at “coffee with a cop” … bringing along miniature horses for kids while she chatted with the parents.
She brought Nobu restaurant to the table … to stop blocking Pacific Coast Highway …
Downtown … the department is transferring all calls for comment to the Malibu Lost Hills office.
At Malibu Lost Hills … they were not answering the phone in the administrative offices.
Seetoo tells KBUU only that the apparent transfer out of Malibu was not her decision.
Malibu mayor Karen Farrer and city manager Reva Feldman say they were surprised and deeply disappointed by Seetoo’s transfer out of Malibu.
Other sources from City Hall tell KBUU News they were blindsided and feel betrayed by the decision.
