LA Fire Promises Decisions At City Hall To Fire Rebuild Hopes

L A County Fire is going to start staffing a desk at Malibu City Hall … two days a week … with a person who is authorized to make decisions on rebuilding fire damaged houses.
The fire chief … Daryl Osby … committed to stationing a decision-maker at city hall after residents told him of a major problem.
It costs a lot of time and money to design and plot out a new house … to replace fire damage.
And fire victims fear that they will go through all that time and expense. … only to have the fire department tell them neat the end of the planning process that the house cannot be rebuilt because it does not meet new fire codes.
And those fire codes have been made much more strict in recent years.
We’ve been reporting that water flow amounts and water storage quantities have been jacked up … far above what the state fire code requires.
The L A County fire chief says his department will be reasonable and flexible … but the real question is what will the fire department require at each individual lot???
Homeowners supposedly will be able to get that specific question answered on an individual basis … by the guy at city hall.
The official from the Los Angeles County Fire Department will be stationed at Malibu City Hall every Tuesday and Thursday from 8 to noon.
No appointments are necessary.
