Deputies searched this morning for a convicted burglar who walked away from the Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station last night.

The inmate was considered low risk … and had been assigned to some sort of work detail outside the jail.

Deputies say he turned up missing at six o’clock last night.

He’s described as a male hispanic … 19 years old.

The sheriff’s station is called the Malibu Lost Hills station …because it serves all of western L-A County.

It’s actually 20 miles away from Malibu … on the 101 Freeway in Calabasas.
