School bus passes for Malibu public school pupils may go up six percent over the next three years.
The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School Board will consider the price hikes next Thursday.
The staff says rising fuel costs are the reason for raising rates for the first time in five years,
Families with three or more students would pay to $1,646 after three years of two percent hikes.
Santa Monica-Malibu schools runs school buses only in Malibu … not Santa Monica … where most students are much closer to their campuses.

Rain is expected to begin falling late Friday and last through Saturday afternoon here in Malibu.
Although San Francisco looks like it will get an atmospheric river and six inches of rain … Southern California is expected to get only some showers.
