The sheriff’s deputies and search and rescue team that arrested the Malibu Canyon burglar will be honored at Monday night’s city council meeting.
The deputies swarmed a steep mountain canyon ,.. choked with brush and boulders …. knowing there was an armed gunman hiding in there.
Careful work by the deputies and the search and rescue team brought about the arrest of Michael Rauda … a 42 year old hermit armed with a rifle.
Rauda is a suspected armed burglar … and is a person of interest in the gunshot slaying of a camper in Malibu Creek State Park last June.
His gun is still beign analyzed to se if it matches the round that shot and killed Tristan Beaudette at the campsite on June 22nd.
You can count on a major L-A news story when those ballistic tests come out.
The deputies who made the dangerous arrest will be honored at Monday night’s Malibu city council meeting.

Remember the Santa Monica Malibu school district teacher who disclosed that White House senior advisor Stephen Miller was a glue-eating loner … mind of aweird kid as a third grade student??
She’s back in the classroom.
Nikki Fiske has taught third grade for 30-years at Franklin Elementary
Fiske was put on paid leave while officials investigated her comments.
Gail Pinsker … the Santa Monica district flack … says the district has “conducted a thoughtful review and we have addressed the matter with the teacher.”

The Malibu High boys football team hosts Nordhoff High … from Ojai … at home at 6:30 tonight.
Nordhoff is coming into Malibu on a winning streak … three in a row.
They beat Hueneme 45-21.
Remember … last weekend Malibu came up short against Santa Paula, falling 14 to 7.
Both teams are now 6 and 2 on the season.
But those boarding school kids form Nordhoff eat well … they are big.
