Prosecutors in Ventura County … and now Santa Barbara County … have filed murder charges against the so called Golden State Killer.
And … he may have struck with 35 miles of Malibu… 35 years ago.
72 year old Joseph James DeAngelo was arrested near Sacramento two weeks ago.… as a newly discovered DNA evidence has linked him to a string of murders from Ventura to Northern California.
The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office yesterday filed four counts of first-degree murder in connection with decades-old killings in the Goleta area believed to have been committed by the Golden State Killer.
Ventura police believe DeAngelo killed a married couple on High Point Drive In Ventura in March 1980….
And that’s 35 miles up the coast from Malibu.
