The California coastal commission now estimates that ocean levels will increase along the coast by 10 feet in the next 80 years.

There are 18 wildfires burning across California today.
Red flag warnings are up for parts of Northern California, including Redding, which has already been devastated by the massive Carr fire…. now at 126,913 acres … 37% contained … six killed.
Three fires in Mendocino County are between a third and one half contained.
The Ferguson fire … burning for three weeks near Yosemite National Park … is expected to burn more intensely.
It’s burning towards Wawona at Yosemite … already claimed nearly 70 thousand acres.
No major fires in Southern California today.

It’s warm in the water at Malibu … 66 is at the high end of normal for summer.
In San Diego … the water is 80.
That’s astounding.
The water at the Scripps Pier in La Jolla hit 78.6 degrees on Wednesday, the highest reading in the pier’s 102-year history.
Bakc in Malibu … lifeguards say the warm water here is causing a bumper crop of sting rays.
Several prople gettign stung daily along Zuma Beach … lifeguards report.
The water is very clear right now … and the little sting rays are fluttering about like leaves on a tree.
Lifeguards recommend scuffling your feet.
—-In news from down the coast … Newport Beach has clipped Bird’s wings.
The Coast Pilot newspaper reports the electric scooter dropped off at least 50 of its two-wheeled vehicles on the Balboa Peninsula last weekend.
As usual… Bird gave no notice and pulled no permits.
The city issued a cease and desist letter.
Newport Beach is now Bird free.
Not so Santa Monica … and we have seen the birds migrating up PCH.
It’s only a matter of time.
