The musical will debut tonight … as scheduled … but the weekend performances have to be cancelled due to tomorrow’s storm.
After tonight’s performance … the Saturday and Sunday performances must be canceled . the principal says.
But … there will be a second performance next Sunday, February 10th … at 5pm.
Spring Awakening is the winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
It’s an edgy rock musical adaptation set in late 19th century Germany … a story iabout the trials and tribulations of growing up.
PG-14 … with shows tonight and then a week from Sunday.

Finally this morning … back to fires.
A new study by researchers are U C San Diego says the wind-whipped wildfire season is moving later and later into the year, and the worst month for Santa Anas is now December.
The research examines how the state’s famously fierce Santa Ana winds are affected by global warming.
Researchers at UC San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography have modeled Santa Ana winds across likely climate scenarios,.
And they found that the gusts will probably get less frequent as the planet warms.
Early fall and spring will be less windy.
The UC San Diego researchers say future warming of the Great Basin and more subtropical weather along the coast, both expected with climate change, will reduce the pressure differential between the regions and limit the churning of Santa Ana winds, at least during some parts of the year.
The frequency of Santa Ana winds is expected to drop about 18 percent by the end of the century, according to the study, but most of that reduction will be early or late in the windy season. October and May could see half as many windy days, or even fewer, the study says.
But climate change will shrink the rainy season … so December is rapidly becoming the most dangerous month for Santa Anas.
The new research from UC San Diego is published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.
And this story is based on reporting in the San Francisco Chronicle.
