Looking forward … the fire chief did announce some changes … possibly some that he crafted on his feet … while listening to residents during the meetings.
One important point was raised by residents … immediate answers are needed on rebuilding their houses.

The LA Times discovers that power poles are essentially not inspected for safety in California.
Power line failures have caused more than 2 thousand fires in the last three years.
Those have killed more than 100 Californians … four of them in Malibu.
And the state of California does almost nothing to inspect power poles.

Heavy rain could hit Malibu this weekend.
The first of two storms will likely arrive Thursday … and it could bring a quarter to one inch of rain.
A second storm will arrive Saturday … there could be a stronger storm …
It might tap an atmospheric river from the tropics … bringing heavy rain to Malibu Saturday.
