A new poll says an overwhelming majority of Californians — 78% — are worried that they might have to bear some of the costs for recent wildfires caused by downed utility lines.
And many likely voters are giving Gov. Gavin Newsom a very mixed review for his handling of the PG&E bankruptcy and its aaffect on Southern Californoa Edsion.
Three in four Californians are concerned that their electricity bills could increase as a result of wildfire damages.
And just one in three approve of Governor Newsom’s handling of the one bankrupt elecgric company … and the other major utilities’ responsibilities for wildfire damages so far,
On the subject of wildfires, the PPIC survey found that 41% of likely voters approve of Newsom’s overall handling of wildfire prevention and response, with 27% disapproving and 32% saying they don’t know.
At the same time, just 28% of likely voters approve of Newsom’s handling of the PG&E bankruptcy, with 35% disapproving and 37% saying they’re not sure.

The reservation system at the coveted Leo Carrillo State Park campgrounds went back online yesterday morning.
And within minutes … spots were being swooped up by campers scrambling to make summer plans.
Leo Carrillo State Park, along with nearby Malibu Creek, officially will be back in full business by tomorrow.
Carillo was shut down for seven months following the devastating Woolsey fire.
The campgrounds re-opened briefly for Memorial Day weekend before shutting down again so final touches could be made to improvements.
The L A Daily News reports that the massive clean-up efforts are over — Leo Carrillo will be up and running for good this weekend.
And parks superintendent Craig Sapp tells the LA daily news that the reopening of the campground is “a small victory for the community of Malibu,”
malibu .. he says … has “suffered so much and continue to suffer.
“Having some sense of normalcy, that Malibu is open for business, has been their mantra. “They just want people coming back and see they are resilient – they will say they are ‘Malibu strong.’ To them, they are living it every day.”

The large sycamore trees in the canyon of the Leo Carrillo campgrounds were mostly untouched by the Wolsey Fire.
But the group campground at Leo Carrillo was destroyed and rebuilt.
Bathrooms were damaged .
There are port-a-potties in their place for beachgoers.
And the small store there was lost to flames.
