The regional transportation agency is studying a plan to charge driver 4 dollars to drive into West LA.
The office buildings and houses north of the 10 freeway … and west of the 405 … east of the City of Santa Monica … would become a toll zone.
the area is terribel for traffic.
The iodea is to cut that cpongestion.
Such a drop in driving would correspond with a 9% increase in transit ridership, a 7% increase in biking and a 7% increase in walking inside the zone
But the toll zone idea from the Southern California Associaiton of Governments for West L-A may be dead on arrival.
L A city councilman Mike Bonin tells the L _A Times …. “this isn’t a proposal; it’s a model.
“As models go, this probably has as much chance of flying as a model airplane.”
SWe have a link to the L A Time story posted at the KBUU Newswire.
