LA County firefighters report that they got a report of smoke this morning at P C H at Latigo Canyon Road …. and another report that it came from Puerco Canyon.

And in news from our local airport … the Santa Monica Outlook newspaper reports that jet departures at Santa Monica Airport plummeted in the first half of the year.

Jet takeofffs are down 83 percent, over the same month last year.

The runway was reduced from 5,000 feet to 3,500 feet in December .

But helicopter use has been on the rise… up 18 percent.

As for propelller … piston-driven airplanes … traditional general aviation … that continues to increase about 10%.

The runway was cut short last Christmas to decreased jet operations … part of a plan to close the Santa Monica Airport by the year 2028.

At 9 a.m. … at Trancas it’s ((((    67   )))) degrees.

In upper Malibu Canyon … ((((    65   )))) .

And at Civic Center Los Angeles … ((((    72    )))).

In the ocean … it’s ((((     67   )))) degrees in the water at Zuma Beach.

The lifeguards say the waves today are   ((((   1 to 2   )))) feet high ….

((((   Old swell leftovers out of the southwest .  ))))

Those are ((((  poor to fair )))) surfing conditions …. according to the lifeguards.
