Casa Escobar is reopening tonight … a week after an electrical transformer blew out and closed the popular restaurant.
The Mexican food place and concert venue is inside the old Malibu Inn building across the street from the pier.
Casa Escobar is a family owned … local hangout.
They say that they need the support of Malibu locals … after being out of business for a week.
The restaurant is offering happy hour deals all night tonight.

And getting back to our old friend Don Schmitz.
The longtime Malibu resident has moved to Thousand Oaks.
And he’s running for city council there.
Schmitz is one of 11 candidates seeking three seats.
