Second July 4th Fireworks Shoot Added – Holiday Forecast Includes Fog
Written by 991KBU on July 1, 2019
Fourth of July fireworks permits have been pulled by volunteers at Paradise Cove and the Malibu Colony.
No final word yet on Broad Beach.
As usual … in both cases there will be barges offshore with professionals launching the fireworks.
Bluffs Park will be closed to the public … starting at sunset … so no fireworks watching there.
That happens every year.
But there is always the big lawn at Pepperdine or Surfrider beahc and the pier … which attract a large crowd.
Sunset on the Fourth will be at about 8 o’clock.
The fireworks are set for 9 … to wrap up by 10.
The fire department warns that the brush is already dry … and that individuals shooting fireworks on private property … the beach or anywhere are violating the law.
Also .. dangerous.
The weather forecast for the Fourth of July 2019 is for a pretty thick marine layer … it may be foggy during the fireworks shows here on the beach.
It will be cool and moist along the coast all week.
And the National Weather Service is warning of 3 to 6 foot waves on the third and fourth of July.
In fact … high tides of nearly 7 feet will occur each evening between 8 PM and 10 PM Tuesday through Thursday.
That means high suirf combining with big waves in the evening … prime fireworks watching time.
And to top everything off … grunion runs are predicted this week.
Tuesday night at 9:30.
Wednesday night at 10:15.
Thursday night … around 11.
