Homeless Feedings Resume (Quietly) On Morning View Drive

It’s been one year since the City of Malibu decided that the churches feeding the homeless should stop doing that … and that the feeding program should move to the courthouse complex next tp the library.
That relocation has been put on hold because of the Woolsey Fire … and the need to install fire alarms on the old courthouse building.
Malibu Methodist Church has resumed feeding people … without homes … on Morning View Drive.
A security guard has been hired by the city to make sure that no one is lingering in the neighborhood after the dinner.
The church has asked the city council for a letter endorsing the weekly dinners … and they sort of got that.
The council voted last night to issue a letter appreciating all of the churches and synagogues in Malibu for their efforts feeding the homeless ….
The council plans to move the nighttime dinners to the old courthouse at the Civic Center.
But the lack of fire alarms there has stymied that.
It will be at least a half year until that can be fixed.
