The City of Malibu will hold an afternoon Earthquake Preparedness Workshop in two weeks.
[[Wednesday, June 27, 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at City Hall.]]
This one is aimed primarily at older people … although anyone presumably
will be welcomed.
Participants age 55 and older will be given a free comprehensive emergency kit … a big one … in a wheeled travel backpack.
The kits contain emergency food and water, a first aid kit, a hand-crank powered radio with built-in flashlight and cell phone charger and the Red Cross Guide to Recovery – a Resource Handbook for Disaster Survivors.
You need to register for the city’s seminar … it’s two weeks from Wdnesday.
We’ll give you the phone number in a second.
The earthwuake workshop and kits are funded by a federal Los Angeles Urban County-Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) .
It is designed to increase earthquake preparedness among people age 55 and older.
To register for the workshop call city hall and ask for the Recreation Coordinator.
The phone number is city hall …. 456- CITY … extension 279.
We have a link to the phone number and email posted at the KBUU Webpage … radiomalibu.net.
