A woman who helped oversee the massive reconstruction of Ventura after a destructive brush fire has been hired at Maoibu City Hall to be in charge of the building department.
Yolanda Bundy will be the new Environmental Sustainability Department director.
That makes her the City Building Official.
She replaces Craig George … who retired.
Bundy is being brought into the building department as it is being swamped with blueprints submitted by Woolsey fire victims.
She was the chief building official for the city of Ventura for five years.
Bundy led the permitting and review work for rebuilding of the more than 520 homes destroyed in the December 2018 Thomas Fire.
She has been credited there for successfully doing everything possible to help the Ventura community recover and rebuild.
That includes developing an expedited plan check procedures.
That expertise will be put to work as the city gets a tidal wave of Woolsey Fire rebuilding permits … which all need plan check.
