The popular Cornucopia Farmers Market has lost part of its area to the construction of a new Santa Monica College branch in Malibu. And it needs to use a city-owned vacant lot … the ChiliCook Off site … for parking.
The good news … is that L A County is about to give the popular Malibu Farmers Market a 10-year-lease at the county library complex at downtown Malibu.
Manager Debra Bianco appeared before the Malibu city council last night … to ask the city to be allowed to park cars on the vacant gravel lot next door.

“I’m really counting on the city to help us through.
“I think this is kind of like a win win and a no-brainer.
“You help us you’re also helping the county and the College, we can all coexist.”
The request to park cars on the vacant lot will be considered by the city staff … it was not on the agenda at last night’s meeting so no decision could have been made.
