SMMUSD Will Explain School Closure To City

There are lots of questions … still … about plans by the Santa Monica Malibu School District to realign its Malibu schools.
This means the closure of Cabrillo Elementary in one year …. and transfer 200 students to Point Dume …
That also means transferring traffic … the daily Cabrillo jams … to Point Dume.
And the school district is talking about a radical reconstruction of the back half of Malibu High … the front half is already under construction.
What does that mean for the Malibu park neighborhood??
For Point Dume???
School Superintendent Ben Drati has been on the job for 15 months … and already … we’ve seen more of him out here than the last three superintendents put together.
This Monday … Drati is scheduled to speak with the Malibu City Council … explain what is happening … answer questions.
