Coastal Access Wins Big At US Supreme Court

Written by on October 1, 2018

This late breaking story from Washington.

That US Supreme Court just had a major victory to California coastal access advocates.

Any major defeat to private property advocates.

The Supreme Court just decided not to take the Martins Beach case.

Silicon Valley billionaire vinod Khalsa has been trying to keep people off of Martins Beach … a beautiful cove that he purchased on the coast between Santa Cruz and San Francisco.

The California Supreme Court ruled that the coastal act required the billionaire to allow people to use a small private road to access the beach.

Khalsa put up a gate … the California Supreme Court ordered him to open it.

Conservatives had hoped that the US Supreme Court would use the Martins Beach coach to overturn California’s coastal act.

The Supreme Court this morning declined to take the case.

National politics … and  the argument over Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination may have played a part in that.
