City Council May Extend California Strategies Lobbying Contract to 2020

Written by on June 10, 2019

The city council will vote tonight on extending its contract for lobbying services in Sacramento.

California Strategies & Advocacy has a 150 thousand dollar contract for government relations and lobbying services at the state level,

The two year contract … negotiated by the prior city council … is expiring in 12 months.

City manager Reva Feldman sats the additional workload following the Woolsey Fire meant that her staff did not have sufficient time to conduct a formal bidding proposal.

She is recommending that the lobbying agreement be extended for one year … out to 2020.

As we said .. the contract ends one year from now … and Feldman did not explain in her report why the extension has to be granted now.

The city has been unwilling to provide any documents exchanged between the lobbying firm and the city.

But city council members have been effusive in their praise for the California Strategies assistance in dealing with state legislators and regulators.
