City Gets Vaccine, Priority Goes To Seniors

Vaccine distribution has arrived in Malibu.
The state and county have allocated about 300 doses to the city.
Yesterday … city staff spent the day contacting senior citizens in Malibu … and offering to have a visiting nurse take the vaccine to them at home.
Once that is accomplished … the vaccien will become available to the general public.
Applications are beign taken now … at the city web site.
How many doses will be available ???
Not sure yet.
The city says they will release more information once they hear back from L A County on the date that the second dose will be available.
City emergency services coordinator Susan Duenas says they to have that second date – they can’t have people register for the first dose but be unavailable for the second dose date.
Detail will be announced today.
But late yesterday … the city web site began accepting requests,
The city says the general plan is for the City of Malibu to deliver first doses on one week from Tuesday … that’s April 13th.
Registration details will be coming a.s.a.p … most likely this afternoon.
ther day before yesterday … 200 dose asppointments were rfeleased at pepperdine Universitry.
Malibu has 31 point 4 percent of its residents vaccinated so far.
taht just about tracks the county vaccination level … but Malibu is far below other affluent westside neighborhoods and cities.
Santa Monica is 38 percent vaccinated.
Agoura Hills … 39 percent.
Mandeville Canyton … more than 50 percent vaccinated.
