City Agrees With Beach Dwellers: FEMA Maps Are Wrong Wrong Wrong

The Malibu city council said it would work with beachfront residents to fight federal flood control maps … which were apparently drawn in error.
FEMA … the Federal Emergency Management Agency … has re-drawn it’s flood maps for the Malibu beaches.
And at best … they did a clumsy and inaccurate job.
The ctiy’s coastal engineering consultants now say that as much as 70 per cent of Malibu’s coastline has in accurately been placed at risk for big waves.
The city council voted to appeal the FEMA maps … and work with residents to come up with a battle plan.
