Bu Beaches Packed & Housefire On Horizon This Weekend

Malibu’s beaches were packed over the weekend … sheriff’s deputies had to be called to the front gate at Zuma to turn away angry … overheated people.
Zuma Beach’s parking lot was at full capacity Friday Saturday and Sunday.
Illegal parking everywhere.
Same up and down the Malibu.
Temperatures hit 108 degrees within Malibu city limits on Friday .. and were not much cooler over the weekend.
On the beach … into the 90s at times … and perhaps worse … extremely warm overnight temperatures.
Some areas had overnight lows above 75 degrees.
As for fires …. no serious blazes here … unlike up in Santa Barbara or down in San Diego.
A house fire yesterday morning … on the ridge above Malibu High School … spread into the surrounding landscaping.
This was on Horizon Drive … almost the same place where a brushfire broke out last winter.
Arriving firefighters got it out quickly … although a camp crew spent some time putting out smoldering landscaping and grass.
