Testing on the ash that washed onto Malibu High School’s field during a major rain storm in December has been completed.
And its shows no levels of pollution.
That’s good news for Malibu park residents … concerned about what’s in the dirt flowing onto roadways and through yards.
District facilities director Carey Upton tells KBUU News the district assumed the black goo was hazardous and treated it that way.
“We tested the mud” .. Upton tells KBUU News on Saturday.
“It does not contain any hazardous substances.
“It is identical to what is found in typical Malibu dirt.”
The muddy goo is flowing freely onto streets in Malibu Park …. it coated Pacific Coast highway on Saturday and again this morning at Zuma Beach.
