Weintraub Finally Gets His Luxury ‘Malibu’ Hotel – In Calabasas

Malibu developer Richard Weintraub is finally getting his Malibu Hotel.
Only … it’s 12.5 miles from the beach.
It’s called the Cambria Hotel Calabasas – Malibu.
Upscale accommodations … the P-R guys say it’s “located a short, scenic drive from Malibu’s famous beaches and waterfront dining.”
That’s nice spin for a landlocked hotel … actually at the Liberty Canyon interchange with the 101 freeway.12.5 miles.
Weintraub spent a lot of money designing a gigantic hotel for the piece of land he owns at P C H at Malibu Canyon Road.
It went down in flames … when community activist pointed out it violated just about every section of malibu’s environmental protection rules.
Now… Richard Weintraub is building his Malibu hotel.
