City council meetings in other cities frequently pick up gadflies who make dire accusations of financial fraud and other nefarious criminal deeds.  And he got portrayed as a vicious slanderer by a former mayor from Jersey … who knows a thing or two about real crimes at a City Hall. https://www.radiomalibu.net/man-claims-malibu-blocked-email/

The city of Los Angeles is suing the Federal Aviation Administration … over noise.

LA wants a federal court to invalidate the routes jets now use to arrive and fly away from Los Angeles International Airport.

LA is joining other cities like Laguna Beach and Culver City in challenging the environmental review used by the FAA in its “NextGen” program.

Nextgen is the use of satellites and computers to save fuel and route airliners in a more efficient manner near airports.

But the computers have been programmed to send airplanes over certain areas again and again.

Areas like the big rock neighborhood in eastern Malibu … and nearby Topanga Canyon.

Airplanes departing LAX are frequently sent at low and noisy vectors across the coastline there.

The LA lawsuit concentrates on planes landing at LAX using the “North Downwind” approach.

That means lining up just above Washington Boulevard in the West Adams neighborhood … hundreds of plans every day flying just above that one particular Street.

That story based on reporting in the Los Angeles Times.

In news from down the coast … San Diego police will now begin enforcing an ordinance that makes it illegal for people to live in vehicles.

The San Diego police say they will now begin enforcing the law anywhere in the city from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. … and anytime at all near homes or schools.

A spokesman told the Voice of San Diego that the department is not taking a “hammer” approach to enforcement, but instead will give multiple warnings and direct people to safe parking lots in San Diego.

The move comes as Malibu and other coastal cities in California grapple with an increasing number of what some call the motor-homeless.

Malibu has been asked by homeless advocates to create a safe parking lot … but the first site proposed drew complaints from neighbors.
