Lieutenant Jennifer Seetoo has been named woman of the year in the Malibu Senate District by State Sen. Henry Stern.
Seetoo was honored at the state capital earlier this week.
The senator says Seatoo was just four days on the job as Acting Captain of the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station when the #WoolseyFire hit.
Stern says Seetoo served with “grace under fire.”
Quoting again: “I’m proud to name her the Senate District 27 Woman of the Year. Thank you for your service, Lieutenant.”

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has won the first court battle over who gets to determine whom works for the sheirff’s department.
The County Board of Supervisors Lost and attempt to get an emergency order to remove deput, Caren Carl Mandoyan from the job that the sheriff gave him … even though the previous sheriff had fired him over evidence of domestuc violence.
A county board had upheld the firing after hearing the evidence.
The Los Angeles Times reports that the judge seemed to side with the argument that Villanueva had broad discretion over hiring decisions in his department as an elected official.
The board of Supervisors has disagreed with the sheriff over the firing of so-called bad deputies.
Villanueva … the new sheriff … says his former campaign aide is not a bad deputy … and was railroaded out of the department by the former sheriff.
The judges decision sets up in future battle between the Board of Supervisors and the Sheriff over hiring practices at the department … which serves as the city of Malibu’s Police Department.
