The City of Malibu is on the hook to build a 2 acre parking lot at the Christmas Tree lot on Point Dume
Malibu city manager Reva Feldman has revealed it exactly what the terms will be … how the city will use Metro transportation money to buy three parcels of land .
As we’ve been telling you … the city swung a 42 1/2 and a half million dollar deal to buy three commercially zoned vacant lots.
The Chili Cookoff and Triangle parcels at the Civic Center … and the Christmas tree lot at Point Dume.
Almost 2 million dollars from the 42 million dollar finance package comes form Metro transportation funds …. and the city has to promised to build park and ride lots on theland.
In a memo release this week … Feldman told the Malibu city council that a 2 acre parking lot will have to be built at Pacific Coast Highway at Heather Cliff.
One point 1 acre of the triangle property we’ll have to become parking … at the corner of PCH at web way.
And a one acre parking lot will have to be built on the vacant lot where the chili cookoff is held.
And here’s an interesting fact.
In all of Malibu … there is precisely one old-fashioned billboard.
It’s a point Dume … it advertises the Malibu Beach RV park … four miles down the road.
And it’s now owned by the city of Malibu.
The billboard is currently leased to the Mariposa Land Company who uses it to advertise the Malibu Beach RV Park.
The City will receive $3,000 a year in revenue through the license agreement.
The license agreement provides for termination by either party on 30-days notice.
