Horizon Hilltop House Hassle Heads To Hearing

A dispute over a new house at the top of the hill above Zuma Beach is spilling over to the California Coastal Commission.
A plan to build a 43 hundred square foot mansion … with a second unit and pool … has been approved by the Malibu plannign commission … and the city council
It’s at 5265 Horizon Drive.
The coty approved a variance to allow clearance of brush … to remove the fire danger … some 138 feet into in an Environmentally Sensitive Habitat Area.
The city also approved a variance to allow construction on a very steep hill.
A neighbor … Ara Ohanian … objects.
The matter now goes to the Coastal Commission … no hearing date has been set yet.
