Yet Another Caltrans Project For PCH: New Median At Malibu Seafood

Caltrans plans to set up another construction project in Malibu … this one after Labor Day.
The state says it has awarded a contract to rebuild the median and do other road improvements project along PCH … between Puerco Canyon Road and the entrance to the Malibu Beach Campground.
The state plans to begin construction after Labor Day … the work scheduled to be finished by Christmas.
The median on that stretch of road … basically … the hill near Cher’s House … has warped over the past 80 years since it was built.
Parts of the median have been paved over … allowing some drivers to make dangerous U-turns right over it.
Not sure what the state is going to do at Malibu Seafood… scene of numerous pedestrians dashing across the highway right next to an underpass that could be used to cross under the road.
As for delays … the state expects to do much of the work at night.
And as for the work at the Escondido landslide … it continues … with completion scheduled for fall of next year
