Hiker Dies In Topanga, And More Gun Reports From Malibu Canyon

The body of a female hiker was found yesterday … near a trail in Topanga State Park.
There is no indication of foul play… and the woman has not been publicly named.
A missing persons report was filed two days ago … for a woman.
Her car was spotted in an area of the state park on the east side of Topanga …. near the L-A city limits line.
Another hiker spotted the body in some bushes near a trail at 4 o clock yesterday …
Both L A police and county sheriffs deputies investigated … a helicopter brought in.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesman says “there appears to be no foul play, no trauma to the body, but the death investigation is still ongoing.

Is it nervous people … or have there been more gunshots in Malibu Canyon?
Twice in the last week, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies have responded to reports of shots fired near Malibu Creek State Park.
Nothing found … in either case
Two times in the last week … Thursday and a week ago yesterday … calls came in about purported gunfire.
Deputies searched.
No evidence that additional gunshots were fired.
The L A Times reports it cannot get any details about the shootings … or the murder last June 22nd of an Orange County research scientist named Tristan Beaudette.
He was shot in the head and killed inside his tent while camping with his 2- and 4-year-old daughters.
