LA Voting Snafu To Be Fixed By Tuesday, County Says

So .. when will your vote get counted?
That’s the question facing dozens of Malibu residents … who were dumped from the voting list in Tuesday’s general election.
The county registrar recorder … Dean Logan … blames it on a printing problem.
Somehow … the machine that prints out the master list simply chopped off many addresses after an arbitrary number was printed on each street.
Incredibly .. no one caught this quality control error until voters started getting rejected Tuesday morning.
Those people were allowed to vote … but their ballots were put in pink envelopes to be opened and added to the account once the registration list is checked.
Countywide … the updated number of voters rejected … and who cast provisional ballots … about 141 thousand.
California’s Secretary of State says he is “gravely concerned.”
Supervisor Sheila Kuehl represents Malibu and western L-A County.
She called for a “deep dive” investigation into the glitch.
So .. when will your vote get counted?
The LA County elections department has a team working on each individual ballot.
Logan … the county recorder… says his office would contact each
of those voters individually to let them know when their vote is or isn’t
validated, in line with regular policy.
Most provisional votes created by the glitch will be counted by Friday … with all of them tallied by next Tuesday … the county promises.
