Written by on May 18, 2018

News from both ends of the spectrum on the housing issue.

Realtors report that the average median price for houses in Los Angeles County went up 10 percent in the 12 months ending last month.

The price??

Just below 529 thousand dollars … in L A County.

At the other end of the spectrum … the homeless population has been declared a regional emergency.

Metro has people sleeping on its buses … its trains … its bus stops.

The transit agency is looking at building a westside homeless tent housing facility in Venice.

The 3 acre lot is on Sunset Avenue … three blocks from the Pacific Ocean … three blocks from trendy Abbot Kinney Boulevard.

Metro closed the bus facility two years ago.

That would be the closest large homeless camp to Malibu … as county officials struggle with an regional housing emergency .
