PCH Gets Extra Cops Today

Less than a week after a crackdown on pedestrians and bikes … the local sheriff’s office is going to swarm P C H today … targeting motorcycles.
But car drivers will also get tickets .. if the special motorcycle enforcement action catches speeding or other offenses.
A specialized Motorcycle Safety Enforcement Operation will be underway today on P C H on Malibu.
The sheriffs office has publicly announced that extra deputies will be on duty patrolling areas frequented by motorcyclists and where motorcycle crashes occur.
Deputies will be looking for violations made by drivers and riders alike … violations that can lead to motorcycle crashes.
But there’s no word in the public announcement if they will be going after loud motorcycles.
And we raise the question … again … why are special enforcement teams dispatched to Malibu on weekdays … when it’s weekends when Pacific Coast Highway is being taken over by car clubs and motorcycle groups.
For several weekends … traffic has been stopped on PCH by groups of take over bikers or hot car drivers.
Getting back to motorcycles … the sheriffs office tells us that motorcycle fatalities jumped dramatically in California last year … after years of declines.
