Malibu Voters May Override City Council On Pot

Petitions are being gathered in Malibu …. to overturn a city council ban on marijuana delivery.
Last January … a split Malibu city council voted to retain a ban in such deliveries.
And councilman Skylar Peak predicted that the city’s two marijuana stores would go to the electorate to overturn the delivery ban.
And that’s exactly what has happened …
The pot merchants say sick people should not be forced to drive to the city’s two licensed marijuana dispensaries to pick up their medicine.
Marijuana is now a 3 point 7 billion dollar industry in California … and that kind of money has political clout.
And … Sacramento may preempt the Malibu ban on deliveries.
The state legislature is considering a law that would prohibit cities from banning marijuana delivery services.
