Thirty-three students and staff at Malibu Elementary school on Point Dume are staying home … in quarantine … due to Covid 19.
And 20 students and staff at Webster Elementary School are in quarantine … as well.
But only one positive test result has been detected at each of the schools … Malibu Elementary and Point Dume… according to the school district test results.
Tomorrow night … the Santa Monica-Malibu school board will consider a vaccine mandate for students.
Already … teachers and staff have a vaccine mandate.
Culver City .. a small district similar to SMMUSD … was the first school district in the nation to require vaccinations.
The Los Angeles Unified district adopted a mandate two weeks ago.
Two days ago … the Pfizer drug company announced its COVID-19 vaccine works in children ages 5 to 11 .
There is no indication if the transmission or exposure to Covid 19 at Webster and Malibu elementary was on campus.
Elementary schools remain the hotbeds of Covid 19 transmission …. nationwide.
And that holds true in Malibu High School … where there are zero cases of positive tests … and only one person in isolation.
