Fixture On Point Dume Since At Least 1962 To Abandon Heathercliff Location

Bank of America has been on Point Dume for 60 years.
But the bank is pulling out.
In a letter sent to customers yesterday … B of A says it will keep its branch at the Civic Center open.
The point Dume branch has been closed. … supposedly temporarily … since the COVID lockdown began last March.
Customers who needed to get into the safe deposit boxes had to make an appointment with the bank … which would send a teller out from another branch to open the vault.
That service will be terminated when the branch officially closes on February Nonth.
Chase Bank’s branch at the point remains open … so far as we know there are no plans to close it.
