A Second Water Main Leak At Latigo Shores, Western Malibu Water Supply Temporarily Cut

Another water main leak … this one on the water main that serves western Malibu.
It’s also at Latigo Shores …
But the county says it is unrelated to the leak that sprung up .. on the branch pipe swerving Latigo Shores … last week.
The two leaks are not related . says Waterworks Ditrict 29 boss Dave Rydman.
He tells KBUU News that there -IS- adequate water stored in the reservoirs west of Latigo Beach … to keep the western half of Malibu served with water.
The exact nature of the leak is still being investigated.
It should be noted that the Latigo Shores area … undr P C H … is a historic landslide area.
There was a big landslide there back in 1947 … so big that the brand new highway was reconstructed inland.
The first water line leak was in that general area.
The two leaks have not been linked to any land shifting … as of now.
One lane on P C H westbound … heading from the Civic Center towards Paradise Cove … is blocked off this morning.
