Santa Monica Parking Lots Have Been Closed All This Time, Sending Crowds To Malibu

Malibu beach parking lots have been reopened for about a month now … but not those in Santa Monica.
That has been putting additional crowds on P C H and out to Malibu.
Finally … after 4 weekends of open beaches … Santa Monica officials say their beach parking lots will reopen in the coming weeks.
Since March … parking meters have bagged … covered up … in beachfront areas south of the pier.
Now they are unbagged and open for use.
Beach lot 4 South is also open for both short-term and day parking.
A city spokeswoman tells the Santa Monica Daily Press that parking will open in stages over the next few weeks … with all parking hopefully open by July 4.
The Santa Monica Pier will remain closed pending orders from the County as part of their ongoing health orders.
