Pepperdine University should be ordered to provide refunds to cover fees paid for spring and summer semester classes.
A parent wants his money back … according to NBC4.
A lawsuit was filed yesterday in U S District Court in Los Angeles by a man named Joseph Pinzon.
He says his son’s Malibu campus was closed … the student was sent home … the on-line classes are not what was paid for … and Pepperdine continues to charge for tuition, fees, and room and board as if nothing has changed.
How much money?
35 thousand 7 hundred 81 dollars … for the spring and summer sessions.
Pinzon says he paid for face to face classes and academic experience of a post grad eduction.
Instead “he is getting something far less: a limited online experience presented by Google or Zoom, void of face-to-face faculty and peer interaction, separated from program resources, and barred from facilities vital to study.”
Pepperdine … the suit says … continues to reap the financial benefit of millions of dollars from students.”
Similar lawsuits have been filed in recent weeks in Los Angeles against USC, Loyola Marymount University and the University of California and California State University systems.
Pepperdine has announced plans to reopen for face to face instruction this fall.
